Mass & Blessing of the Sick – 3pm

Principal Celebrant and Preacher : Bishop Paul Swarbrick

This year’s theme is “Our Lady, Queen of Peace”

We are well aware that too many people in the world are trying to survive war and the effects of war. Too few leaders are looking to promote peace; cooperation is giving way to rivalry. Our Lady’s intercession is needed more now than ever.

As well as a beautiful replica of the Lourdes grotto, there are also statues of the Cure of Ars and St Therese of Lisieux. The pilgrimage will be an opportunity to honour not only Mary, the Mother of God, but also these two great saints, and to ask for their intercession for healing and consolation.

For further details see poster in the narthex.

Young people, age 16+ are invited to walk in pilgrimage from Honister across Haystacks into Ennerdale then on to Cleator. They begin at Castlerigg Manor on Friday 31 August. The walk is about 10 miles each day and concludes with the Diocesan Mass at Cleator at 3pm. To join the walk, contact Fr John Moriarty at Castlerigg 017687 72711.
