First Holy Communion 2017

Please support by your prayers and give welcome to our young candidates on this their special day: Maja Iglikovska, Alice Greaves, Jacob Openshaw, Michal Wiglusz and Julia Ziolkowska.

Pray for their families so all may be strengthened in their love and the knowledge of the Christ received in this Sacrament. Keep in mind the significance of this celebration: to show his love and faithfulness, Christ offers himself to us as food for our journey through this life and the next. We truly and sacramentally receive him, body, blood, soul, and divinity. Have a look at the words inscribed on the wooden reredos behind our altar: Ecce panis angelorum, factus cibus viatorum, meaning: Behold the bread of angels, made for us food for life’s journey.

We extend our grateful thanks to our parish catechists and to our school who have prepared children and parents for this day. We thank those who have decorated the church and those who have prepared the children’s breakfast. You are invited to join them in the Haydock Centre after Mass for light refreshments. Please make the time after Mass the time for your photography.
